Promoting the development of leaders, making connections and building community.

Federal Way Chamber

The Federal Way Chamber of Commerce established the Advancing Leadership program in 1998, in cooperation with various community-minded businesses and organizations. Their mission was to develop a program designed to provide emerging community leaders with the skills, knowledge and connections to make a positive difference in Federal Way.

The Adult Program

Our program accepts 20-30 participants from the community with diverse backgrounds, experience levels and interests. Class is held one full day per month  and includes leadership training, hands-on activities and excursions throughout the city.  The experience comes full circle with a class project allowing the participants to create a lasting impact on Federal Way. We meet from Sept - May with June graduation.

The Weyerhaeuser Company is a ten year program sponsor, Woodstone Credit Union six years, joined by Highline Community College, City of Federal Way, and St. Francis Hospital as three year sponsors, and new this year are State FarmWal-Mart and T.O.T.E.

AL 2008 Graduation on Thursday, June 19th at 5:30 PM at the Knutsen Family Theatre.  Come celebrate success with our tenth graduating class!

The Youth Program

The Youth Program creates positive leadership attributes in Federal Way youth. Selected students from local high schools participate in a nine-month program inclusive of experiential site visits, leadership training and networking opportunities.

This program works collaboratively with Federal Way Public Schools and is generously sponsored by the Comcast Foundation. The Comcast Foundation has committed to a second grant totalling six years enabling us to impact more kids. In addition, State Farm stepped up as a sponsor dedicated to youth.
