The program is comprised of Federal Way students of diverse cultures
and economic backgrounds. Students begin with an Orientation Retreat
prior to the beginning of school, which introduces them to the
community, and helps provide an understanding of its needs.
They meet each month for 8 hours in an interactive setting at various
locations throughout the community from August through May. Students
will network with more than 100 community leaders during the program
year.
The executive director and adult volunteers lead each class day
focused on key community topics. Experts, facilitators and community
members participate with youth during site visits, service
opportunities and adult mentoring, followed by discussion and
reflection.
