AL Earns 2016 Community Impact Award
At its 2016 Annual Gala in November, the Greater Federal Way Chamber honored Advancing Leadership with its Community Impact award.
According to GFWC CEO Rebecca Martin, CCE, “The Community Impact Award recognizes leadership which serves as a model of inspiration in personal, professional and volunteer efforts; a track-record of community enhancement through a project or business concern designed to make a difference; and service to the community beyond that for which compensation is received.”
The Chamber selects one honoree for it’s three Impact Awards each year: Business Impact went to Red Canoe Credit Union, Community Impact to Advancing Leadership and Regional Impact to Virginia Mason Health System.
“Advancing Leadership was founded on the idea that in order for our city to grow and thrive we needed more community members to become servant leaders. In order to effectively serve you have to know your community. We are proud of the impact that our founders, alumni, board and sponsors have made and will continue to make on Federal Way," said Lawrence Garrett, Executive Director of Advancing Leadership. "We are honored to receive the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce’s Impact Award this year.”
